Hi, I am looking for a modertly priced thinkpad unit with a decent amount of video memory. I am thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of 16-32mb. When I say modertly priced I am thinking something around $300-$500 or maybe you even know if someone is willing to trade?

yeah I know that, the question i am asking everyone here is, as thinkpad experts, what particular model has the highest video memory for a decent price. I have not been able to find a rundown on every thinkpad made and its available video memory.

Sorry to say that 8 megs of video memory in a laptop was considered a lot until fairly recently. I just had my hands on an A21p PIII850 that was 8 megs. I am typing this on my 240X PIII500 with 8 megs. I think you will have to get into a PIV T series to get 16 megs, certainly to get 32. I think you will play heck finding a Thinkpad with 16 megs video memory for under $700-800.

I believe all the Thinkpad A30 and A31 models have 16-32mb video memory. I recently picked up an A31 for under $500 with 16mb video memory.

i purchased a thinkpad r31 from ebay recently and it runs beautifully. i hope you have less trouble with it than me though. it runs incrediblt smooth and the video card runs better than any crappy on board video card i've ever used. i can even emulate n64 games perfectly which completely surprised me. my signature has my pc specs, and i spent $450. the only problem is with sound, but i can't find written anywhere on the internet that anyone has ever had trouble with their r31's sound, so i am convinced it's just my laptop.
