Symantec Endpoint and Fingerprint software issues?

It seems that the Symantec Endpoint Protection is not compatible with the Fingerprint Reader Software on my ThinkPad.


gets error msgs about microsoft visual c++ and SMC.EXE incompatibility.. anyone have this issue? this machine is a w500 but according to the info it can happen with the software, not machine specific.
