Resume a Thinkpad using RTC

I would like to standby and resume one of my thinkpads using a timer.

I searched for utilities to do this and found two that sounds interesting:
http://www.dennisbabkin.com/php/download.php?what=WOSB
http://noeld.com/programs.asp?cat=dstools#wakeup

Unfortunately, none of them works, and I suspect the problem is in the thinkpads, as I can see a tentative, a flash on the power leds, but the half moon led remains on and the pc cold and dead ;-)

Does anyone of you already solved this issue?

As you have not listed which Thinkpad you are trying to "wake-up", this advice may not apply. In most recent systems, there's a BIOS setting which is supposed to wake the system (from standby I assume). If your system does contain such an entry (typically named "Resume on time") in the "Config/Power" section of the BIOS, play around with that and see if it does what you want.

Not sure about putting it into standby at a certain time....

I'm afraid I wasn't clear, but english is not my native language..

The only thing you need to resume a pc is a ACPI compliant system, asLenovo claims its Thinkpad are.

I used an utility, to give the wake on RTC signal, I posted the links.

I did the tests with X20, T42 and T60.

To tell the whole story, I tried the a.m. sw on T60 only, on the others I tried with different applications.

I didn't post this message in a specific forum as I thought is a general issue.
