Memory Problems

Hello all,

So I installed a 2GB memory stick about a year ago, and within the past few months (after I installed SP1 for Vista 32) I was getting Blue screens that seemed related to memory problems. I never dealt with it, assuming it was a problem with SP1.
So yesterday, I returned to a backup of pre-SP1, and ran PCDoctor memory tests, and a whole lot failed.
So should I just remove both sticks of ram (the 2Gb I installed, plus the 1Gb supplied by lenovo initially), and buy some new ram? Citing a spontaneous-ish malfunction of the ram itself?

Regards,

You could replace the RAM but one of the modules might be good. If you have the time and inclination, you could systematically test each module individually with MemTest86+. They offer an ISO download to make a bootable CD of the program. Remove one module and boot with the CD, letting the test run for several passes. Then do the same with the other module. Depending on the results you get, you could also try each module in the opposite slot. Search if you need more info. Good luck!
