Self-healing display

Hello and happy 2009!
I cannot understand why but I found that my T43's SXVGA+ display apparently has self-heals properties!
Two days ago I transported the TP in a backpack as I did often. Back home I found an irregular area about 1" x 2" to be brighter, contiguous to the bottom border. I supposed it must have been some polarization layer delamination ?!? I was a bit disappointed and believed it was my fault in some way, and prepared myself to live with it. I could not really complain, as any of my TPs, this one served me well for 2+ yrs in many world trips .
Then on the following day I recognize the area to have shrunk in size and be less noticeable. Right now it's barely recognizable except to be light strained when looked at an angle, it has been a slow process that seems to have progressed with the TP either being turned on or off.
I was also surprised to see the display as brighter in that area? After all the biggest complain about these display is lack of brightness !!!
Anyway, as only sometime happens in life, I found this thing to be able to fix itself. Well done Mr display manufacturer!
