Battery charging

#1 Post by lengendtp » Sat Jan 03, 2009 12:23 am

Hi I have used the battery maximizer program to set the charging threshold of 30/98.

Should I wait for the windows desktop to load finish the battery maximizer program before switching on the AC power and off the AC power before clicking the start>Turn Off Computer>Shutdown?

Cause I assume the maximizer progam must be running in order to control the charging if not, when the program is not running, the AC power will start to charge the battery? Am I right?

Also how to define 1 charging cycle?

On my T61 and T42 I have the thresholds set at 40/45 because they are always connected to AC power. As long as I do not disconnect the AC power then no worries. However, if the AC has been disconnected, you are correct that the unit will start charging on a power-up with the AC line connected .... but it charges only for a minute or so until the maximizer program loads. As for the system logging that minute of charging as another battery cycle, I do not believe it does, however you can try it and see.
