Power Management Charging Threshold

#1 Post by gb_ibmguy » Sat Jan 31, 2009 5:57 pm

Ok,

I have a hot rod A31 with all the latest drivers and Lenvo patches and fixes. Everything runs good, but, for the life of me I can not find where I can define any battery charging cycles. My laptop is most always connected to AC power, and when the battery gauge gets to 99% it starts recharging. I would like to change the threshold, but, I cannot seem to find that option. I have the newest version of battery maximizer, the newest version of power management and all the newest bios updates. Where the heck do I set the charging thresholds?

Thanks.

The hardware to support user settable charging thresholds was only included in the ThinkPad designs from the time of T42 model, so you are out of luck with an A31.

Bill,

Thanks for the reply. I've been driving myself nuts trying to find that option :D

So I guess I will just solder on with my default battery cycle's.

FYI I did just purchase a re-manufactured IBM battery on Ebay from http://stores.ebay.com/IMS-Store and it seems to be fine.
Yes, I know, re-manufactured battery's can be dangerous, but, so far, this one works.
