Which laptop would fill my needs
Hi
I need some advice, presently l am using a 600x at home (650mhz) and l am tired of how slow it's running and l am sure that l have some virises of one kind or another. I have cable and it's routed into a modem so that l can use wifi on two laptops.
Instead of hunting down the virises or whatever l thought about just replacing the hard drive for approx $50 and then put in an OS (which l have). But when l started looking for a hard drive l searched IBM laptops and l noticed how cheap they are. Between $150-200 l can get a much newer laptop. The problem is which one should buy.
My needs are not that tough, l have a something 40 thinkpad in my office that is just fine.
But for only using it for e-mailing, downloading pictures and opening movies that my buddies send me, which model thinkpad would fill my bill?
Thanks
Alan
PS I almost forgot being that l also surf the unknown sites so l will need some protection other then "Avast". I would need it for two laptops.

If you are on a budget, the T42 would be a fine replacement for your 600X. If you have more money, consider a T60.
