Thinkpad 760xl wireless network problem

#1 Post by khantle » Fri Jan 21, 2005 5:33 pm

I am trying to install my Belkin wireless notebook network card # F5D7010. The WiFi card is 802.11g 54Mbps. Every time I pop in the PC card I get this error that the hardwire profile is incorrect and that current configuration is for a 16-bit card, this is a 32-bit card. This of course stops the installation process. I've tried updating the TP760xl with new bios and drivers, but still it does it. Do I need some other software or is this bus only 16-bit and can never work using a 32-bit card? I was using Win98, tried updating to Win2000 Pro, but now get this error. With Win98 I got both green led's to light up, but the card wasn't recognized.
Please help, I've tried to get answers on line with IBM, but most of the 760 support isn't there.
Thanks,
Kevin

You need to install the Configuration Utility: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.ws ... &loc=en_US and enable Cardbus support for the PCMCIA port.
