R32 -> X31 RAM swap?

#1 Post by rhz » Fri Feb 20, 2009 6:13 pm

Hi.

So I have a 1GB card in my R32 that I don't need and I have an X31 in need of 1GB of memory. The obvious question is: can I simply swap the memory from the R32 into the X31? How can I know if they're compatible? Is there any potential danger either to the computer or the memory by just trying it?

Thanks.

rhz

It'll work with no problems, both are DDR. You can look these things up on Thinkwiki.

For future reference, they usually make it so it doesn't physically fit if it's not the right kind, so as long as you don't force the card into a slot it doesn't belong in (thus breaking something), you're ok.
