How long does it take

for Rescue & Recovery to make a back-up of the system?

I started it over 5 hours ago, and it is still at 0%. For some reason, I cannot cancel the operation, and I cannot close it using the red X.

I noticed today that it hadn't made a backup since Dec. and that's why I started it.

R&R has to work out what is different between your set up now and the set up in December.

If you have done a lot of changes since then it can take a while. Leave it overnight, have a good night's sleep and see if it has finished in the morning.
If it hasn't then I'd suggest there is something wrong.
If it has finished then do another backup immediately. It should be very quick. If it isn't then report back.

Ok, it's been going for 12 hours now. The progress bar is STILL at 0%. There is hardly any HDD activity going on.

I haven't made many changes other than some system updates and loaded some pics. Other than that, this laptop is used primarily for surfing and email and online shopping.

I will let it sit overnight and see what happens in the morning.

Would there be a problem killing the operation using Task Manager?
