When to use (or not use) Active Protection?

Does Active Protection protect ONLY the primary drive?

IF I am going to stick a SSD into the primary HDD slot, and then put in another SATA HDD in the UltraBay (a T60, NOT T43), will Active Protection work on the UltraBay HDD?

I assume there's no need to use Active Protection on SDD, since there's no moving parts

This has been discussed before. If you do a search you will find all the various opinions. What it boils down to is that the HD in the ultrabay is covered by APS, if it supports certain commands (which ones exactly escapes me right now), and if it doesn't have its own protection mechanism.

To answer your other queston, yes, it´s correct that SSDs don´t need APS.
