Rescue & Recovery v 4.21 Discovery

In the process of setting up my new one week old W500 I had a problem after uninstalling MS Office 2007 trial version. The uninstall went well and it demanded a restart. After the restart was completed, an error message appeared entitled "SQL Writer" the message: " SQL dumper library failed initialization. Your installation is corrupt or has been tampered with." After searching here, Google, and the MS knowledge base, I did not come up with a definitive answer other than it's a common problem when removing the trial problem version of Office 2007. In addition, there was an Office activation app to be removed which was separate of Office itself. In a hurry, I did not notice that until _after_ removing Office so I thought perhaps it was the order used during the uninstall.
Thus I made a decision to use the Rescue and Recovery app to start over. Upon launching it, I found it was a newer version (4.21) than I had used previously and a "new option" called "custom restore" was present. So I chose that option and found that it would allow me to uncheck a few apps that I did not want installed, such as the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus. However there was no option to uncheck for Office. Nonetheless I decided to proceed with the custom R&R.
Much to my delight upon completion I found that it had only reinstalled the OS, and ThinkVantage. None of the "bloatware" such as the trial version Office or any other trial apps. What a great feature! Not only did that solve my problem but obviously it freed up extra disc space, and the restore went much faster. I just wanted to pass this discovery along for those of you who may not be aware of this "option".
Cheers...
