USB Mobo connection's?

Generally speaking , (at least on same brand laptop's) are the connector's on a mobo generic? I need to attempt to install one on a nice laptop that a customer somehow broke out the USB connector! Thank's for some input's, JimD

Generally speaking no they are not. Some motherboards that I have seen for example the T4x series have two USB connectors directly attached and soldered to the motherboard. On some T6x machines there is a USB sub card that has a connector that plugs into the motherboard while also one directly attached.

One solution would be that if the laptop has a PC card slot use a PC card USB adapter.

Brad , thank's for reply. I have a USB 2.0 card but didn't want to limit the flexibility. JimD
