Lost Securedrive

My SecureDrive has suddenly disappeared. I had made no software changes, and afaik, there were no automatic updates between the time it disappeared and the last time I used it. This happened on an X60 Tablet, running XP, SP3, with all XP and Lenovo updates, and Client Security Solution 7.00.0022.00. Here are the symptoms:
1.SecureDrive is no longer mounted on my computer (important data is lost)
2.Client Security Solution won't mount it; instead asks for “administrator password”, but rejects all passwords including my Windows administrator password.
3.Windows prevents me from opening or changing the names of some folders, because I don't have sufficient privileges, even though I'm logged in as administrator, and even though I just created the folder seconds before. This seems to be erratic; I was able to open and delete one folder I created yesterday, but I couldn't open or delete the same folder immediately after it was created.
4.On start-up, Windows gives a series of screens asking for fingerswipes and administrator password. It Accepts the fingerswipes and then goes on to ask for the password anyway. It always rejects the password, and then offers another password or fingerswipe screen. After I hit “cancel” many times, windows finally leaves me in XP, logged in as administrator (my default account).
Question: is there a way to recover the data on SecureDrive?
