Do the X, T, and R series use the same kind of AC adapter???
I'm asking b/c I may buy a used laptop soon and am thinking of getting one from Fleabay. The laptop may be an X, R, or T series type of laptop. I have a T30 that uses an 72-watt Novartis adapter.

The T2x/T3x/T4x and R3x/R4x/R5x all can use the same 72W/16V adapters.
The X2x/X3x/X4x use a 56W adapter, but will also work with a 72W, if the connector is the same as above.
The T-X-R-Z-60/61 series use a 20V adapter, and don't fit anyway.
The G4x have different connectors and won't work either.
Your T30 adapter must be a generic, non-IBM one, which could cause problems along the way.

In addition, it's generally safe to use a higher wattage adaptor than originally spec'd but not to use a lower rated one.

Thanks guys!
I'm copying and saving this info!
Also- I just got my Arctic Silver 5. Yikes!!! I'm gonna have to read a little before I even start taking apart my T30 and applying it!

BTW, if you get a T40/T41/T42, or an R50/R51, you can also use the RAM from your T30.
Look for machines with Intel integrated graphics.
