r52 wireless sensitivity problem ?

#1 Post by retired » Thu Jul 16, 2009 12:18 pm

My r52 wireless sensitivity seems a lot weaker than many mac laptops I see in use. I'm staying at a hotel and the people with the macs seem to get almost 3 times the distance from the signal source as I can and they are making phone calls with skype at these distances. My thinkpad has the 2200bg card. Is it a software or hardware issue and can my laptop wireless sensitivity be improved ? I'm dual booted with windows xp and Pclinuxos.

Check that both antenna wires are still connected to your wifi card.
Download Netstumbler to see what sort of signals you (can) get: http://www.netstumbler.com/downloads/
