Rescue/Recovery & Norton 360 Problems

#1 Post by Sleep Machine » Tue Aug 04, 2009 8:39 am

1. I am trying to follow good protocol and use Rescue and Recovery backup about three times a week for both my T60p and my X61S to separate external USB drives.
2. I have Norton 360 loaded on both machines.
3. After Rescue and Recovery spins its wheels getting going, I get a message that says it cannot continue because the following file is corrupt, etc.:
c:documentsandsettings\allusers\applicationdata\symantec\shared\qbackup\index.qbs.
4. I then click on skip and Rescue and Recovery finishes fine.
5. I have tried to find a way in Rescue and Recovery to ignore this particular file to no avail.
6. Is there a workaround, so I can do my backups at night, and not get the error message?

Yeah, get rid of that Norton/Symantec junk.
From other users, only the Corporate versions of above outfit seem to work properly.
Get Eset Nod32 instead.
