You won't find all the info in BIOS.

What ThinkPad are we talking about, and what specific parts would you like to identify?

teladoy, do you still have the R50? If so, the following may be what you want...

Hi:Thank you guys
The R50 is gone a day after Ajkula told me. My machines are R60 (x2) I plan to mobo them perhaps increase from core duo to core2duo when I go to lenovo they list to all the types and models are not precise what each have, sample one R60 have a 3945 and the other comes with atheros also XP won't tell you precisely what you have by brand so if I go to play around I need to know my parts and the BIOS is were I read other go to that is why I am asking please correct me I need to know.

Enter your machine type and serial number here:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... ook-warnty

It will let you see the warranty, and then you can click "View parts lookup results" to see the list of parts. But that would be very technical and not so informative, from my experience.

You will find more useful information if you just post your full 7-character machine type in the box on the right on that page which says "Enter a product number". It will tell you all the original specifications.

Of course if your machines have been tampered with and parts changed/upgraded, no website will help you. A program like Everest might.
