Software/Freeware similar to Access Connections?

I've been struggling with a software/hardware conflict on my T61 for about 8 weeks. Numerous hours have been spent trying to get this virtual (Cisco) adapter to work on my system. At this point, we believe that the adapter is not going to be compatible with Access Connections. I finally got Access Connections removed from my system and am now connecting through MS's crude Network Connections. I believe the Cisco virtual adapter will now work as intended permitting me to connect to my office network.
Is there any sort of utility that will offer the same sort of functionality that Access Connections does?
Thanks.

You could try the free
BOINGO.
It will auto connect to any previous connection that you have already connected to. If you have never connected to the AP it will notify you of it and ask if you want to connect to it.

I dropped Access Connections a long time ago, and replaced it with NetSetMan.
http://www.netsetman.com
It enables you to set up multiple network connection profiles, and easily switch them as you change locations with your ThinkPad. You can configure up to 6 different profiles with the Free version, and Unlimited with the shareware version. It does the job for me.
Try the free version to test compatibility with your specific Virtual Adapter. In my case, netsetman recognizes the TAP-Win32 adapter (VPN), as well as the Hamachi virtual adapter (VNC) in addition to my wireless and ethernet adapters.
