What's the affordable (used) replacement for the X40?

Got a Z60t in this weekend. (2.0 ghz, 2 gig ram, 100gig SATA 5400 HD, titanium lid, BT, WMAX - the works).Thought was that it would replace my beloved X40.
Nope. At least not yet.
Too big, too heavy, runs too hot on my lap. Clear performance difference, and the bigger screen is nice I guess, but I just LOVE the size, weight etc of the X40. I probably will list it on the forum soon.
I've thought about the SSD deal for the X40, but probably do still want to move into SATA, cheap memory, better graphics land.
I do mostly Office, web browsing, and the only gaming I do is Farmville on Facebook.

But I do watch Hulu a lot.
Any thoughts?

Get a non-titanium (lighter than the titanium version) Z61t with 4-cell battery -- it should weigh only around 4.7 lb. Replacing the optical drive with a travel bezel will further reduce the weight to 4.3 lb. Try to find one with WXGA+ (1440x900), which will give you 65% more real estate than your X40.

Thanks. I'm actually wondering if I shouldn't try to find a T series with SATA and discrete graphics. A 14" one would probably be a reasonable weight. Don't have to have the wide screen.

If you love the form factor and weight of X40, the closest you'll get to that is X60s.
My $0.02 only...

A T-series (esp. widescreen) is bigger and heavier than the Z60/61t. If you didn't like the latter, the former is definitely not your cup of tea.
I agree with George - X60/61s will be the closest to the X40 as farm as form and size goes. Especially with the prismatic (slim) 4-cell battery.
If you want a bit more performance at the expense of some extra bulk/weight - go for the regular X60/61.

Budget is probably $500 or less. The less the better.

The X6x is definitely within your budget if you like the form factor.

[quote="ajkula66"]If you love the form factor and weight of X40, the closest you'll get to that is X60s.[quote]Agreed. This is exactly what I did after owning an X40 for three years. It's almost the same machine, just faster, a little heavier and a little warmer.
I know this isn't really the forum, but I picked up another machine that would also serve as a nice X40 upgrade. A Dell D410. First the background, I was buying a ThinkPad from a seller on eBay, prior to checkout, I took a look at the other items he had listed for sale. He had a Dell D410 with a 2.0GHz Pentium M (Sonoma platform, 533MHz bus) that appeared to be in mint condition - for $150. He was willing to combine the shipping with the ThinkPad I purchased, so the shipping was actually free. The overall condition was excellent, but the battery was weak. Luckily, there was a Dell battery recall and this one qualified. Dell sent a brand new battery! Regarding performance, the D410 is much faster than an X40. It's likely due to the faster CPU, bus and hard drive (5400rpm). The keyboard layout isn't perfect and the mouse buttons are a little too low on the trackpoint side (D410's have both touchpad and trackpoints!). They do not have optical drives and weigh about 4lbs. Anyway, for the price, D410's are solid, low-cost alternatives.
All that being said, with X60s's selling from $300 and up, they are rather hard to beat.

Well, went ahead and threw the Z60t up in the marketplace and have my sights set on the X60s
