those of you familiar with 3.5" external enclosures should be very familiar with the mini-DIN power connector for DC power. In general, I found that there are two types. first type, the 6-pin mini-DIN looks about identical to your standard keyboard/mouse PS/2 connector, and the second type, also a mini-DIN, has 4 thicker pins.
Based on what I read on the pin diagrams for these two power connectors(correct me if I'm wrong), it seems like with a proper adapter, I should be able to take a standard legacy 4 pin molex connector and power the external harddrives that use them. By doing so, I won't have to use yet another power brick, taking up an additional socket on my power strip.
I've tried searching high and low, couldn't seem to find any online stores selling such an adapter cable. Can someone point me in the right direction?
