Has anyone had a warranty request denied for...

#1 Post by sparta.rising » Thu Oct 08, 2009 1:49 pm

Has anyone had a warranty request with Lenovo denied for changing a part to something outside of original spec? I know they don't care about hard drives and memory but what about LCD panels, motherboards, CPUs, etc?

Any input appreciated, thanks!

Theoretically, they can deny you for messing with non-CRU parts, although I have yet to see that happen...but I'm certain you already know this.

I know someone who had a couple of upgraded machines repaired by EzServ on issues that were not related to the upgrades, but would tend to think that at this day and age they might look forward to denying anything that smells remotely suspicious... :??:
