MUST-READ for ALL FIREFOX users

Micro$haft exposes Firefox users to drive-by malware!

The Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant add-on that Microsoft sneaked into Firefox without permission from end users is vulnerable to a serious code execution vulnerability.

On my machine, Firefox popped up a message that the .NET Framework add-on is vulnerable and it will be blocked. Firefox rocks!

Firefox Foils Microsoft's Security Hole
PC World wrote:If you use Firefox, you may have already seen a pop-up from your browser alerting you that it is blocking the Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant and Windows Presentation Foundation add-ons. It's for good reason.

As of today, Mozilla's browser will automatically disable Microsoft's addon and plugin because of a gaping security hole that allows for drive-by-download attacks. The flaw lies in the Windows Presentation Foundation plug-in that is installed by the .NET add-on.

I go to my Tools>>Add-ons>>Extensions.

I see a red exclamation mark that says, "Disabled for your protection. Known to cause security or stability issues."

Hooray for Firefox!

According this blog update from Mike Shaver, Mozilla's Vice President of Engineering it has emerged that Microsoft Framework Assistant add-on poses no threat to Firefox users.

As has already been said though - Firefox Rox!
