Nice laptop, shame about the power cable...

#1 Post by nebpehtira » Thu Oct 29, 2009 2:09 pm

I carry my X40 with me most days, and I've begun to notice that the power lead is actually more of a problem than either the laptop itself or the clunky power brick.

Has anyone out there managed to find a "lightweight" or "slimline" power cable to connect the standard IBM/Lenovo power brick (with the C5 "cloverleaf" 3 prong input) with a British style plug for a reasonable price?
ThinkPad X60 (Duo T2400 1.83Ghz, 3GB RAM, 60gb HD), ThinkPad X32 (has issues), Atari TT030 (68030 @ 32Mhz, 10/16mb RAM, Ethernet adapter and SD card reader)

It may be cheaper to assemble your own.
Find any 3-lead cord with the MickeyMouse plug on one end, and anything else/nothing on the other end.
Then get a UK plug and fit that on that cable.
Alternatively, get a power supply with only 2-prong power cable. They work just as well.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
