Shipping Delay beyond reasonable time

I recently received an error that my 8cell x60 battery was not recoverable and damaged. I went on Lenovo's site and ordered one.
It stated that it would be shipped within 8 business days. No Problem. I placed the orer on 8/23
8 days passed and I went to check the status. Now it stated that it wouldbe shipped on 9/16. ok so it was backordered. no problem. I again went to check the status on 9/16. Hmm now it states that it wont ship until 9/27. This kept going on and again on 10/16 I checked and now it stated 10/27. This is more than enouph time. I called to see why and In a voice I could hardly understand except that his name was paul, could not give me a reason. He couldnt even tell me if they were backordered.
I canceled the order to say the least. I will order from another source. I could have ordered a new laptop with an 8 cell battery in less time.
I have odered from the website many times and this has never happened.

Just my 2 cents worth...anyone else ever experience this?
