Hey all!
After completing the upgrade to 7.2 Mbit on my Sierra Wireless MC8775 i have definitely seen a performance and speed increase.
So i thought it would be fun to know which speeds you are getting from your WWAN card, not only the MC8775!
Post a comment containing your card type, country, operator and of course speed and let us compare
Heres mine: MC8775, Denmark, TDC Mobile

Did you test your MC8775 before you upgraded - if so what were the speeds?

Indeed i did.
After several tests late at night (optimal condition due to low level of active users) this was my highest result

One test with my X60s from Maui, Hawaii to San Diego, CA (2500 miles, not 1200 as estimated by the test) with a Verizon (Sierra MC5720 adapter). The performance is quite acceptable.

Speedtest.net is a
quite unreliable for comparative speed determination, due to the way it operates on the service side.
You need service with reliable and repeatable charcateristics, plus files of known size and characteristics, for any meaningful comparisions.
Here is Oz we use this site.....
http://www.ozspeedtest.com/ ...... however, that won't be useful for international comparisons.
First off is the (inflated) Speedtest.net result
and here is the (realistic) Oz Speedtest result, over the same link.
Mirror: Telstra Bigpond
Data: 3 MB
Test Time: 11.39 secs
Your line speed is 2.15 Mbps (2151 kbps).
Your download speed is 269 KB/s (0.26 MB/s).
Cheers,
