If all else fails, get DBAN or Killdisk, both free on the web.
They'll wipe your HD. No need for low level formatting.

This is good information, but my only concern is will be able to install Windows 95 once I format? Will I be able access my cd-rom after the format?

Are you installing Win 95 from a CD + boot floppy combo, or from a large stack of floppy disks?

On my old systems I boot from a DOS floppy and reformat the disk. From there all you need to do is boot from a Win 95 boot floppy disk that has CDROM support (you can find those online just google for win95 boot disk).

You can also format the HD and install DOS. After that you install driver for an external CDROM drive and then install from the CD.

Best bet is to just get the Win95 set on floppies since I don't think a 750Ce came with a CDROM built in.
