Docking Station II & battery life

#1 Post by Roger L » Sat Jan 16, 2010 3:29 pm

Got a Docking Station II for the A31p...also some new batteries and am wondering how to make these puppies last. The computer will stay docked most of the time. Do I want to be continually charging the batts? Or is it smarter than that?
thanks, Roger L

Charge your batteries to around 50%, put them in a plastic bag with a desiccant pack, and stick 'em in the fridge.

I use a docking station on my A31 and I never use my Thinkpad with the battery in whilist on the dock. If your ThinkPad lives on the dock, then you don't really need the battery in to use the ThinkPad.

What about power-outs?
Do you have a UPS?
If not, you should keep your battery in the laptop!

Also, if you're a Windows user, your A31 CPU will only operate at 1.2Ghz without the battery installed.
