Have T40, doubts for next laptop.

Hello, I have a T40 for some years. The last mainboard had the USB problem (not working on 2.0), and finally appeared the Ati flexing problem (freeze screen for graphics bad soldering).
Now I´m using my first mainboard that doesn´t charge the battery (I damaged it with an external bad battery).

Well, on the near future (from now to summer) I want to buy another laptop, because I will need expresscard. From some time I was thinking in T43, but just now have realized that T60 and new T400 have also both pcmcia and expresscards. T43 are at good prices on ebay, but on my searching I have found the new SLx series, and lenovo G550 at very good prices, around 400 in euro, so I´m not sure what to do. About the G550 haven´t found much info really, and have seen no info in this forum, for the SLx series, they seem to be ok, good performance, should be new and would have warranty.
Since I´ll keep my actual T40 can live with only Expresscard, but what about SLx battery life?

My preferences are, battery life, lightness and thinness, expresscard.
Issues like gaming, or super-performance are secondary, I really think it´s better a desktop for that.
Regarding the T series, should you recomend T43? T60? T62?
Have seen T400 and seems attractive, around 700 euro I think, but I remember that not such time ago a T60 cost more than that, and now is already an "old model", so even I could invest 700 euro, should it worth?, I could buy near two used T43 with that.
I´ll wait for your opinions and comments, I´m really undecided, and quite confused. But at least, love Lenovo. :thumbs-UP:
Edit:
I´m thinking about X200 or T400.

I'd say go for T60...modern enough machine when compared to any T4x, faster and more reliable...and should be affordable at this point in time.

That's the advice I'd give someone buying a laptop on U.S. market...the one in Spain is terra incognita for me...

I highly endorse the T60 if buying used. Noticing your edit, the T400 is a particularly good buy new, at the present time. Yet that said I don't expect them to be available much longer since the T410 has just become available.

mm, I usually buy from ebay, so I could buy even in USA if the seller colaborates sending it through USPS with a less declared value, that avoid customs.
I just thought about T43 model, and parts, have gone to ebay and saw that lcs, keyboards, bezels, are the same for T40,T41,T42., T43, since my actual mainboard is not totally ok (battery doesn´t charge) I thought maybe could just buy a motherboard with base and cpu? Should that fit with my actual T40 screen, bezel, keyboard...cd rom, hdd..., or I´m wrong?

On Lenovo support info, tells T60 has less battery life than T40.., even T43 little less than T40, is that true?
And regarding T400/T410 and X200/X200s.., I found X200/s very attractive for being ultraportable, and long battery life, but a bit expensive, but maybe is not other similar on the market a less price with this specs I suspect..?

There's always the X60 or X61 if you want something light and portable with good battery life.

You are correct. Adapters from PC Card to ExpressCard do exist, but you won't get the same performance.
