Uninstalling R&R

I have recently upgraded to Win7 on my X61 7675 CTO and am thinking of uninstalling R&R, since I'm not using it. However, I do not understand whether uninstalling R&R will also remove the blue ThinkVantage button functionality, especially the functionality during boot. As I understand, the boot menu (after pressing the blue button) is or gives access to R&R.

My question is therefore: does uninstalling R&R have any effect on the functionality of the blue ThinkVantage button during boot? If it does, then I'm not interested in uninstalling R&R. If it doesn't, then I see no reason for keeping R&R.

I've asked this question on the Lenovo forums, but nobody felt it was worth answering. I would really appreciate your advice or feedback on this.

Thanks.

Well, if you remove the R&R partition, the Thinkvantage button will no longer allow you to go into Rescue and recovery...because it's gone. Make sense ? :)
What it will do at that point is provide a pre-boot menu where you can select to go into BIOS or into the boot device selection menu.

Thanks, but what I really want to do is simply uninstall R&R from the "Uninstall Program" feature in the Control Panel. I'm not going to touch any partitions. Does uninstalling affect the pre-boot menu stuff (blue button)?

TTBOMK, if you run Rescue & Recovery 4.0 or better you can completely deinstall Windows and still have the original Thinkvantage button functionality.
