I need help trouble shooting.... Screen/Monitor related.

#1 Post by buzjerry » Tue Feb 23, 2010 1:53 pm

The past couple of weeks my screen has been flickering/reddish/finally gone dark (but able to see the windows very dim but at times it would go completely black on me. Also if I was at full brightness it would cause the lamp to go out with some whirling noise.

So last night I replaced the CCFL backlight. Tested it before I put it back together and it lights up with no problems. So I connected monitor and I can run windows with no problems everything stays on, WHEN THE MONITOR IS NOT SECURED TO THE HINGES...JUST LEANING ON SOMETHING.

When I secure everything back together... the lamp turns off and and I can only see things dimly, but doesn't black out. I took it apart again. checked the lamp and its fine. So I try to put it back together while its on... sure enough, once I lifted the screen about one inch it shuts off.

I got no clue.... I just ordered a new inverter, but I'm not sure if that's the problem, but I'm hoping...

Any help suggestions would be very appreciated... I checked all the wires and everything securely connected.

Unit is a T60, 2007-64U, 14.1" screen, about 5 years old.

PLEASE HELP :(.
