Flushmount PCMCIA USB Card?

#1 Post by RWDPLZ » Sat Mar 06, 2010 4:00 pm

Does anyone make a flushmount PCMCIA USB Card? I just fixed my A31p, and it would be very usable again if it had USB 2.0 ports, but I'd prefer not to have a giant tumour sticking off the side of it.

How about a usb 3.0 flush mount Expresscard?

I think it will work in an Expresscard 1.0 slot, but limiting transfer rates to 312 MBytes/sec...?

Haha, I probably won't find one of those... Sorry. There is a big difference in a PC card and an Expresscard. Thank you!

Looks like I will pick up an inside hide PC Card and a usb 3.0 expresscard adapter for my W500. I think they will fit at the same time...? :?

Just recieved the card today, installed itself under Windows XP, and works great with the A31p. Shipping took forever from Singapore, but it was worth it, thanks!

I bought one around the same time as you did. I agree that they are well worth it.

I got one as well after reading this thread. Thanks for the info!

I gave it a test run by copying a 350mb file from a DVD to a flash drive. Without the card the copy took 5 minutes and 44 seconds. The same file with the card was just under a minute 40. :D
