Wine spilled on keyboard and touchpad R60

Is there a way to turn a thinkpad on/off without the keyboard? I was considering just taking the motherboard and placing that in a desktop case or a cardboard box but wanted to know if the machine is working other than the keyboard and touchpad before starting.

You can run a Thinkpad without a keyboard in a dock. You'll need an external USB keyboard.
