my notebook has bluetooth and intel 2200 card. The wireless reception is fantastic. does the bluetooth contribute to that or is it just the intel card that works so well?

BT doesn't have anything to do with wifi performance, but it's good to hear you're getting great reception

I've actually heard that using bluetooth and wifi at the same time, can affect the wifi in a negative way. Not sure if that's true or not though. My reception is great too. Intel 2200.

The excellent reception is probably credit to the ThinkPad dual antenna design in the lid. These things blow the socks off of 90% of other internal, PCMCIA or USB NICs.
love that reception

There are other notebooks with antennas inside the lid aren't there? Do Powerbooks and iBooks have them? Any others? It's obviously a great idea, but it doesn't seem like rocket science to me. You'd think some other companies would catch on.
