Customizing Thinkpad mouse buttons.

#1 Post by lenuevo » Wed Apr 07, 2010 4:49 pm

Many Thinkpads have duplicate mousing buttons on top of the touchpad. I am wondering if it's possible to assign special functionality to these buttons. Namely, I'd like to assign Copy & Paste functionality. I doesn't bother me if this is achieved via a hack or a third party add-ons, I just want to know if this is possible.

Thanks.

With Linux it is - you can assign mouse buttons to whatever. This will help.

Not sure about the windows world, but I'd be more than surprised if it weren't possible.

Thanks for replying, and it's a shame if indeed true. This might steer me part way toward an Apple laptop which have customizable touchpad gestures via a 3d party add-on.
