I had a 2 gb PC2 5300 DDR2 SDRAM from lenovo in my laptop for maybe a year at most and it recently went bad. So my question is there a certain brand of ram that tends to be better?

I'll second the recommendation of Crucial. I've bought Crucial RAM for years, and have only once had a bad module. I didn't get it replaced by Crucial (cheaper/more convenient just to use some sticks I had lying around), but given that my handling of said RAM was a bit careless I'm not sure it was their fault.Neil wrote:I have used a variety of RAM manufacturers in Thinkpads with very little trouble. The only RAM stick that actually failed while I was using it, was Crucial. BUT, even though I had purchased the RAM second hand, I contacted Crucial for RMA, send the bad stick in, and Crucial replaced it at no charge! All it cost me was a couple of bucks to send the bad stick in. So, if you can't tell, I'm recommending Crucial also.
