Thinkpad Docking Station Software

Forgive, I tried to search for it, but to no avail.

Is there any software of drivers out for docking stations, in which I can use R-Series and T-Series ThinkPads for?

My boss is telling that he used a docking software before for his T60 that would connect and disconnect as easy as pressing a button on the desktop.

Has anyone heard of this at all?

Any idea's, suggestions, or leads would be helpful, thanks.

There's no docking station software.

Fn+F9 typically allows you to eject the computer from a dock "safely" (just like the little tray icon that allows you to "safely" remove USB devices).

In practice I always attach and disconnect my T60s to and from the dock on-the-fly without any software actions, and maybe have one issue every few months (typically it's when Presentation Manager gets confused and fails to detect external monitors attached).

My T60p will often blue screen when docking or re-docking. I don't know why, but it pisses me off.

Bluescreens are there for a reason. The reason is to give information to the user. Otherwise the operating system could just shut down.

Noticing the error message on the bluescreen and investigating (looking up its meaning online, for example) is the first step towards solving the problem. :D
