Keyboard connector adaptor?

Is there a way to connect an old large keyboard connector where a new small one should go? Such as plugging in a T42 keyboard into a T60 and hacking the bezel, or plugging a T42 keyboard into the "USB Keyboard With Trackpoint"?

On the right side of the pic you can see what it plugs into, in the case of the USB KB. Looks similar inside a T60, and a T60 KB has a connector similar to what's in yak's fingers.

The older KB of the T42 generation looks somewhat similar but quite a bit larger. Is there a way to mate the new and old?
