T410 or W500

I was going to get the T410 until I learned of the poor quality of its display: http://www.anandtech.com/show/2976/leno ... business/6

Now I'm considering the (old) W500. I've seen someone on these boards claim that the W series displays rival the Macbook Pro. Is the W500's display really any better than the T410?

The only other thing I'm concerned about is build quality. I've read that the T410 actually has a more 'solid' keyboard than the W500, however the new T410 no longer has the roll cage for its display.

What do you guys think?

If I did get a W500 with a flimsy keyboard, how would I go about ordering a good one like these guys did? http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo- ... parts.html

W500 in WUXGA guise has a pretty dreadful LCD in my opinion, a long way from MacBook Pro. However, if you can live with WSXGA+, these are probably the best LCDs on recent ThinkPads.

Apart from less-than-stellar screen, W500 is a very impressive machine. I've used one for six months and had no complaints whatsoever about anything else on it.

My $0.02 only...

The WXGA+ panel in my T410 is excellent as a notch down from an IPS panel, I compare it against the SXGA+ IPS panel in my T43.
