Wireless Problem Startup - no connection

I have a strange problem with the wireless card in one of my TP's (R31) - an I assume that different programs at boottime do interfer and screw up the system.

When I start (one of my) Thinkpad (no LAN Cable attached), then I have no correct connection to the Network.

Browser fails, ping also.

Going into Thinkvantage Access Connections, press the button "disconnect" (I guess that is the label, I am using a German version labelled "trennen") and "connect" thereafter, everything works just fine.

Here is more info about the machine's symptons / settings:

1.) I use it with a fixed fix IP adress

2.) There is an icon in the tray saying "Data Frame Errors - Check WEP Settings." It seems to be the "AEIWLSTA.EXE" programm that I do not see on other TP's that I am useing and running with Access connections.

3.) When I run ThinkVanmtage Access Connections, it shows "all ok", the Wireless setting to be ok, 93 to 100% signal strength

4.) When i open this other icon, The "PRISM Wirelss properties" Programm opens and basically says very good connection etc.

What do I need to do to cure the problem? I assume that there is some interferrence between that software and Access connection.

As far as I remember, I did invoke the PRISM software a while ago because with Access Connections, I was unable to switch on the wirless card (it was switched off for what reason ever ...

Thanks for any help!

Assuming you run XP, let Windows manage your connections, rather than AC.

maybe that helps other folks: I deinstalled the prism software and all works fine again. Seems that AC and the prism SW ded interfer each other.

So, this is fixed.
Thanks
