CAN NOT FIND WARRANTY INFO

#1 Post by RRHODY » Fri Jul 30, 2010 8:27 am

Curious situation. The BIOS reports the type and serial number but a Lenovo warranty search using those entries comes back no information.
How can this be?

They could have been programmed incorrectly by a repair outfit. Go by the numbers on the sticker on the bottom of the laptop.

Thanks, that's a plausible explanation.
Just to see if it was a problem at Lenovo's end I put in another units numbers and got the warranty info. Then I tried another unit, using the bottom numbers and got no info. The first unit that got no info is relatively new, the third and last unit is a T30 and may be old enough to have dropped out of the system.

Anything older than T4x/R5x has been purged out of the system.
