integrated camera dead?

#1 Post by thinkpod » Tue Aug 24, 2010 3:05 am

Hi,

My x201t's integrated camera suddenly stopped working. In device manager it shows under USB controllers: "Unknown Device". On the properties for that item, it says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".

I tried uninstalling the driver, scanning for new HW, installing the camera drivers downloaded from Lenovo, etc.

Any suggestions on what else to try before contacting Lenovo for repair? This is on Win7 if it matters.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Recommended resolution:

One of the drivers controlling the device notified the operating system that the device failed in some manner.

If you have already run the Troubleshooting Wizard, you might want to check the hardware documentation for more information about diagnosing the problem.
Since that is quite likely a USB device, I would check those drivers (reinstall) as well.
If it is hardware, you probably still have warranty on it.
