Will these SSD works for Edge 14" ?
Will these SSD works for Edge 14" ?
I have heard that some SSDs will have Error 2100: HDD0 problems.
The two I am considering...

Do you think they will work? If you have experience with 2100 using SSD, may you tell me how to solve it?
I am planning to install my OS straight from my SSD. So can I just replace the HDD with SSD, and then install the OS?
Thank you.

Where? As far as I know, the Edge use a standard 2.5" drive. Either of the drives you listed should work.jwxie518 wrote:I have heard that some SSDs will have Error 2100

I can't find the same comment on newegg anymore. It was from the Kingston one.
But google cache still has the record ..

Then I googled for a while, and found some people complained too.Verified Owner
Pros: Price is the main pro on this one. What's really cool about the kit is getting an external 2½" SATA to USB box. This will breath amazing, new life into an older laptop with a tired 5400 RPM HDD.
Cons: I own both this Kingston 64GB and an Intel X25-M 80GB and the Intel SSD is a tiny bit faster, but it also cost twice as much.
Other Thoughts: ThinkPad users BEWARE. Error 2100: HDD0 (hard disk drive) initialization error (1) press ESC to continue! This is a known issue with several thinkpad series and after much research, it seems to be aggrivated by SSDs made by Kingston, OCZ, GSkill etc. The weird thing is using an Intel SSD resolves the issue BUT this is not saying the other SSDs are bad drives. Really it is narrowed down to an issue with the ThinkPads. I installed the Kingston in a ThinkPad T60. Warm booting the system, I will get the error. So warm boots are out, but no big deal. Cold booting, I never have an issue at all and everything runs amazing well.
