Lenovo Auto Scroll Utility...?

#1 Post by loyukfai » Sun Sep 12, 2010 10:19 am

It seems that the latest ThinkPad Hotkey Features Integration Package Setup 3.11.0001 has brought along another utility called "Lenovo Auto Scroll Utility".
<AutoScroll Utility>
This program provides a function to improve usability for window operation.
Window position of the foreground application is automatically adjusted.
I'm not sure what it actually does, but it seemed to stop one of my program from working properly.

Anybody has a better idea what it does...?

I have installed that update, but have not idea what this Auto Scroll function is supposed to do or how to make it work.

But what has happened is the middle button scrolling has stopped working. I am not completely sure if this problem's appearance coincides with the update, as I have also installed a couple of other things.

Oh, that 'problem' was due to me setting Auto in the TrackPoint settings, duh...

How would I uninstall just that function anyway? Aren't they all part of the same executable, or do they al run in different processes?

I still have no idea what it is supposed to do.

In my case, it's listed separately in the Control Panel stuff.

Cheers.

FWIW, my middle button scrolling function is working fine with this utility. I have a Lenovo Bluetooth Laser mouse with a wheel/button combo. Pressing the wheel activates scrolling.

I believe AutoScroll is the utility that pushes windows back onto the display. With it installed, try putting a window halfway off of the display and then, with your mouse over that application, push the cursor against that side of the screen. The window should slide back onto the display.

That's what the program does as far as I know, too.

Cheers.
