How can I flash the BIOS when I already have highest version

Hello,

I have a T42 Thinkpad and would like to flash my BIOS. Thing is, it's already at highest version, but I have the feeling something is wrong with it because the speedstepping is not working properly.

When I try to flash the BIOS, it refuses to because it is already up to date.

Anyone know how I can re-install the BIOS?`

Many thanks.

A.

See if you are able to flash the BIOS to an earlier version. Once that is accomplished, you can then flash the BIOS again to the latest release.

thanks! the pages I was on just showed the 3.23 Version.

Managed to install an earlier version and it seemed solved a problem, will install latest version perhaps again. possibly a virus messed with my BIOS speedstep controller
