Not sure if these are actual 9.5mm drives but i'm guessing so they already have 1TB drives in the 12.5m drives and since they are using the 7KXXX/5KXXX naming scheme. The price though looks impossible!Hitachi Announces New 750GB Notebook Hard Drives
Hitachi has introduced two new lines of notebook hard drives: the 7200RPM 7K750 and 5400RPM 5K750 series.
The drives will be available in 500GB/640GB/750GB capacities with up to 375GB per platter. The drives feature a SATA 3.0Gbps interface and use the Advanced Format, with the new 4k sector size; it improves performance and reliability of high-capacity drives.
The 7K750 series is the high-performance line with a 7200RPM speed and 16MB buffer. Hitachi says the drive consumes 1.8W of power while reading/writing.
The 5K750 is Hitachi's new mainstream drive; it has a 5400RPM speed and 8MB buffer. The company claims a low power consumption of 0.5W at idle and a 1.4W read/write.
The 5K750 will be available this November for MSRP $129.99. The 7K750 line will be available in Q1 2011; pricing has not been announced.
