Fingerprint Scanner on IE vs IE 64 bit

#1 Post by potatochef » Fri Nov 05, 2010 3:22 pm

I recently purchased a ThinkPad W510.

I figured out how to use the fingerprint scanner and all was good with the world.

Then one day I noticed that the laptop was shipped with Internet Explorer and Internet Explorer 64 bit.

From the day I started using my new laptop I was using Internet Explorer and not the 64 bit version. All my fingerprint scans were made while I was using IE not 64 bit version.

When I tried using the 64 bit version everything was fine.....EXCEPT....the password manager and fingerprint scanner did make an appearance when I went to the websites and blogs I normally visit. This includes my bank, Yahoo, MSN, etc....

I had to type in my user name and password on all sites. I was never asked if I wanted the password manager or the fingerprint scanner to remember user names or passwords....NOTHING.
I switched back to regular IE and everything is working as it should. No problems.

Does anyone know why the 64bit version of IE seems not to let the fingerprint scanner and password program work?
