R&R with new hardware?

#1 Post by toppledots » Sat Dec 04, 2010 9:49 am

I just got my T510 the other day and I'm planning on swapping out the hard drive in there. If I make a full backup with R&R will I be able to restore it to the new (larger) HDD? Or will the image be locked to the old hardware configuration?

Yes you can restore to a larger HD. Make sure to create a set of factory recovery discs before doing anything just in case. I usually use cloning software like Acronis True Image for tasks such as this.
