Safe adhesive that will not damage the rubbery case coating?

Which adhesive could I use that does not damage the rubbery ThinkPad case coating on the lid?

I want to attach a sticker (around 50mm squared), non-permanently, of a QR code pointing to my personal website.

I was thinking 3M Spray Mount would do the trick, although it may not be strong enough, and I am not sure if the solvent in it would damage the coating.

Make a bunch of 3M Post-Its.
They hold well enough for a few "sessions".
Throw away when no longer sticky...

Well, thanks for the suggestion, but I do not want something so temporary.

I am looking for a semi-permanent solution, where I can take it off when I want to sell the laptop or give it to somebody else, without it having damaged the coating (which, as we all know, is pretty easy to damage).

Why would you disfigure your Thinkpad?
Trying some free advertising while having your fill in StarBucks?

Yes, sort of, although for professional reasons, at things like Microsoft, Citrix, VMware and Cisco conferences - not Starbucks.

And, as I said, it's just a 50mm x 50mm QR code in the corner of the screen lid, and permanently disfiguring it is something I am trying to avoid.

Would contact paper damage it?
Rubber Cement?
There are companies that make skins. Perhaps they could customize one for you or just a square for the corner.
I'd like to cover the entire top of my T41, er, perhaps, somehow, leave the IBM Thinkpad logo showing.

You can try vinyl. You can go to a sign store/shop and see if they can make it up for you. It's tacky to stay on, but you will be able to remove it latter. Lot of race cars use this on their cars, since they can use the same car, and just peel off last week's sponsor and put on this week, all without having to repaint.

The skins that you buy are mostly likely vinyl as well, but where they take the added step to cut a sheet that fits the device form factor, with a pretty graphic.
